The sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the sky with hues of soft pink and gentle orange. Lelouch and Suzaku sat on a wooden bench in the garden, surrounded by the sweet scent of blooming jasmine that wafted through the air like a warm embrace. It was their secluded sanctuary, a place where they could momentarily escape the weight of the world and delve into the depths of their shared struggles.

Lelouch turned towards Suzaku, his face illuminated by the fading light. “Do you remember the first time we met?” he asked softly, a nostalgic smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.

“Of course,” Suzaku replied, his voice tinged with warmth, “You were so confident, but you carried such a heavy burden. I could see it in your eyes, even back then.” There was a glimmer of understanding between them, a bond forged in the fires of challenge and conflict.

“And you, always the beacon of hope,” Lelouch noted, his gaze drifting to the ground, where fireflies began to flicker like stars come to visit. “I resented your unwavering belief in justice. Lelouch nodded, feeling the weight of those words resonate within him.
“It’s the very scars we try to hide that often reveal who we truly are. I’ve lived in the shadows of my actions for so long, but they don’t define me. Like you, I’m learning to embrace the parts of me that I’ve always seen as flaws.”

“Your past, my past—they are lessons, not labels,” Suzaku encouraged gently, leaning forward, his gaze steady and sincere. “Just as the storm has the power to tear things down, it also clears the path for new growth. Just look at this garden. Every flower blooms from the soil, nourished by rain and sunlight alike.”

Lelouch smiled, appreciating the beauty in Suzaku’s words. “So, we are like these flowers?” he asked, a flicker of hope igniting within him.

“Exactly,” Suzaku replied, his eyes alight with passion. “Each of us has the capacity to bloom, to shed the weight of despair and welcome the possibility of new beginnings. We have fought wars against ourselves for so long—perhaps it’s time we fight for our peace.”

“For peace… yes,
